For years, as a Firearms Instructor, I
struggled to find a gun lube that didn’t
get sticky or gummy, especially on an
AR15 Bolt Carrier Group. I
experimented with every Internet
favorite with no success. After using
zMAX metal treatment in my truck
engine and getting better mileage, I
experimented for three years
developing the formula for BoltLube.
Years of using commercial and kitchen-concoctions to lubricate handguns, shotguns, and rifles showed that conventional lubes get gummy and don't prevent carbon buildup. Especially on AR-15s, the lube needs adequate viscosity to stay on the Bolt Carrier Group, but must be thin enough to penetrate the small parts. Conventional motor oil, often recommended, is chock full of additive "packages" that contain chemicals (like ZDDP) that we do not want on our skin, or to breathe vapors when exposed to ammunition combustion.

A two-part solution combines a synthetic oil equivalent to a 50 weight that stays in place. Add to that the zMAX Metal Treatment with tiny oil molecules that penetrate the metal pores and provide long-term lubricity and resistance to carbon buildup.

* Slash the time it takes to clean your guns
* Give away your carbon removal tools
* Reduce adhesion of abrasive contaminants
* Soaks into the pores for ideal cleaning and conditioning of gun bores, barrels, actions and contact surfaces
* Reduces build-up of combustion by-products, lead, and copper, reducing bore fouling

Here at CTC, we have developed the BoltLube and BoreLube products to include persuasive identities. In a cluttered market with look-alike CLP products, we built a personality that is unique.

Currently non-exclusively licensed by zMAX, the formula is available for licensing for use either as a private label of your choice, or as "BoltLube" and "BoreLube" - names that CTC owns - without reference to zMAX.

The company that owns zMAX Micro Lubricant(R) has a non-exclusive license to the formula and name "zMAX BoltLube". The name "BoltLube" and the proprietary formula is owned by Chandler Technology Corporation and is available to license. If a licensee chose, they could market the product with whatever name they choose.
